Rams Have Spoken To TE Jordan Reed About Potential Deal

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Rams have spoken to former Redskins TE Jordan Reed about a potential deal.

According to Fowler, Reed is training in Miami and still wants to play.

Reed has dealt with a number of injuries since entering the NFL and sustained seven documented concussions over the course of six seasons. However, multiple reports have said that he still plans to resume his NFL career.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Reed to a contract will not factor into a team’s 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released.

Reed, 29, was taken in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Redskins. He was in the final year of his rookie contract when he signed a six-year, $48 million deal that included $22 million guaranteed with Washington.

Reed was set to make base salaries of $8.25 million and $8.75 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Redskins released him a few weeks ago.

In 2018, Reed appeared in 13 games and caught 54 passes for 558 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
