The Los Angeles Rams announced that they have officially promoted RB John Kelly from their practice squad to the active roster and waived WR Nsimba Webster to make room for him.
Linsey Thiry of ESPN points out that Rams RB Todd Gurley is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s Week 6 game due to a thigh contusion, so Kelly adds some depth to Los Angeles’ backfield.

Kelly, 23, is a former sixth-round pick by the Rams out of Tennessee in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2.6 million contract and was able to make Los Angeles’ active roster his rookie season.
However, Kelly was among the Rams’ final roster cuts this preseason and signed to their practice squad once passing through waivers unclaimed.
In 2018, Kelly appeared in four games for the Rams and recorded 27 rushing attempts for 74 yards (2.7 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 27 yards receiving (13.5 YPC) and no touchdowns.
