The Los Angeles Rams have released TE Lance Kendricks and DL Eugene Simsย Thursday night, according to Alden Gonzalez.
Kendricks, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2011. He was in the third year of his four-year, $18.5 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $3.75 million for the 2017 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Kendricks will free up $4,250,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2016, Kendricks appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and caught 50 passes for 499 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Sims, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Rams back in 2010. He was in the second year of his three-year, $10 million contract that includes $3.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $2.75 million for the 2017 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Sims will free up $3,250,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2016, Sims appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 23 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.
