The Los Angeles Rams officially signed eight players to future/reserve contract on Tuesday including:
- DB Jerome Couplin
- LB Cassanova McKinzy
- LB Reggie Northrup
- DB Kevin Peterson
- WR Brandon Shippen
- DB Kevin Short
- RB Brandon Wegher
- TE Bryce Williams
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Shippen, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May. Unfortunately, the Dolphins elected to cut him loose during the final week of the preseason.
The Rams just recently added him to their practice squad.
During his college career, Shippen caught 32 passes for 453 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 28 games. He also contributed 48 yards rushing on eight carries.
