Rams GM Les Snead told reporters last weekย that it was “definitely realistic” to think they could have a long-term contract in place withย Foles before the endย of the season.
“Oh yes, I think itโs definitely realistic,” Snead said. “I think both parties philosophically, us as an organization and … heโs getting to that point where he wants to focus on football and letโs roll. And hey, let the chips fall where they may.
“I do think heโs excited about whatโs around him. He thinks weโll all be successful and that usually means success for the individual as well.”
Foles, 26, came over in a trade from the Eagles that sent Sam Bradford to Philadelphia.ย He had one year remaining on hisย four-year, $2.769 million rookie contractย and was setย to make a base salary ofย $1.522 million for the 2015 season.
This new agreement will keep Foles under team control through the 2017 season.
In 2014, Foles appeared in eight games for the Eagles and threw for 2,163 yards while completing 59.8 percent of his passes for 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 25 quarterbackย out of 39 qualifying players.
