St Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher mentioned that C Scott Wells will be placed on injured reserve after he suffered a broken foot during Sunday’s loss to the Lions, via Rams Radio.
Wells would be eligible to return under the league’s new IR rule. This obviously is terrible news for an already suspect offensive line that also lost LT Rodger Saffold to a neck injury. Wells signed a four-year deal worth $24 million during free agency. Rob Turner figures to be the next man up, so we’ll have to see what kind of impact this has on the Rams offense and specifically players like Sam Bradford and Steven Jackson.
