Report: Ravens At A “Disconnect” With ILB Daryl Smith, Broncos Could Be An Option

Update:

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens and free agent ILB Daryl Smith still have a “disconnect” regarding Smith’s asking price.

Meanwhile, the Denver Post. mentions that the Broncos are giving consideration to possibly making a run at Smith.

Smith, 31, has done enough this season to warrant a multi-year contract after he signed just a one-year deal worth $1.125 million last year.

In 2013, Smith totaled 123 tackles, five sacks, two inceptions — one was returned for a touchdown — and two forced fumbles.

The Titans have been mentioned as a team that could have interest in Smith as well.

We have him listed as the No. 44 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Aaron Wilson reports that although the Ravens view ILB Daryl Smith as a “priority,” an agreement is not imminent at this point in time.

Baltimore has maintained that they would like to have Smith back next season, but progress has been slow and it appears as though Smith will field offers on the open market.
