Ravens LB Coach Ted Monachino A “Strong Candidate” For Colts’ Defensive Coordinator

Alex Marvez reports that Ravens’ linebackers coach Ted Monachino is a “strong candidate” to become the the Colts’ next defensive coordinator.

Marvez goes on to mention that Monachino’s relationship with Colts HC Chuck Pagano while he was with the Ravens back in 2010 and 2011 as a key factor into Monachino’s candidacy.

Indianapolis decided to fire DC Greg Manusky on Tuesday, making this the first rumor to surface regarding the team’s defensive coordinator vacancy.

Monachino has had previous work as a defensive line coach for the Jaguars and a number of college teams.

In 2015, the Colts were No. 26 in the league in total yards allowed, No. 24 in passing yards allowed, No. 25 in rushing yards allowed, and No. 8 in pointed allowed per game.
