ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that C Matt Birk will re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
Birk was considering retirement a few weeks ago but he’s been in contract negotiations with the Ravens in recent days so the move really isn’t all that surprising. Birk, 35, was actually rated as the #9 best center in the league last season which is a very respectable number considering his age. Then again, centers tend to keep playing at a higher level well into their thirties than offensive tackles typically do.
