The Baltimore Ravens announced Thursday that they’ve signedย CB Robert Nelson to a futures deal for the 2018 season.
As of now, the Redskins have signed seven players to futures deals including:
- QB Josh Woodrum
- RB John Crockett
- FB Ricky Ortiz
- OT Steven Moore
- CB Robertson Daniel
- DB Bennett Jackson
- CB Robert Nelson
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Nelson, 27, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in May of 2014. He lasted just over a year in Cleveland before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Cardinals’ practice squad.
The Texans signed Nelson to a future/reserve contract but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Nelson had stints with the Patriots and Jets before eventually signing on with the Ravens towards the end of the season.
In 2017, Nelson appeared in two games and recorded four total tackles andย interceptions or pass defenses.
