Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Jackson, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Giants back in 2014. He was unable to make the 53-man roster during his rookie year but later signed on to their practice squad.
In 2015, Jackson suffered a season-ending ACL tear that led to him being placed on injured reserve. The Giants elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract but once again waived him coming out of the preseason.
Jackson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
