Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports that the Baltimore Ravens are said to be keeping their cap space available for a potential “blockbuster contract extension” with QB Joe Flacco.
Baltimore has been reportedly interested in locking up Flacco since their loss to the Patriots in last years AFC Championship game. Flacco is said to be looking for a pretty sizable contract and the recent deal given to Mark Sanchez is only going to complicate things even more.
Wilson add that agreeing on a new deal could take “several months to negotiate” which means that the Ravens will have to keep their cap space open for the time being. This could definitely have an impact on what they choose to do in free agency.
