JP Finlay of NBC Washington reports that Redskins G Arie Kouandjio has suffered an apparent quad tear and his 2018 season is no in jeopardy.
According to Finlay, this injury could force Kouandjio to miss up to eight months, which is why this could very well end his 2018 season and lead to him being placed on injured reserve.
Earlier in the week, the Redskins re-signed Shawn Lauvao, but Finlay says it’s unknown if Kouandjio’s injury happened before or after the signing.
Kouandjio, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2,801,672 contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.
Kouandjio will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.
In 2017, Kouandjio appeared in eight games for the Redskins.
We’ll have more regarding his injury as the news is available.
