Redskins Hosting Former Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick

Todd Archer reports that former Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick is already scheduled to meet with the Redskins on Sunday, despite officially being released a few hours ago.

Archer adds that this could be the first of a number of visits for Scandrick.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Scandrick to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Scandrick, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $20 million contract and set to make base salaries of $3 million and $4 million over the final two years of the agreement when the Cowboys designated him as a post-June 1 release.

In 2017, Scandrick recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses for the Cowboys over the course of 11 games before he was placed on injured reserve. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 113 overall cornerback out of 121 qualifiers.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
