Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Redskins were the only other team to place a waiver claim for LT Desmond Harrison, who wound up being claimed by the Cardinals on Thursday.
Arizona has the top priority in the waiver order right now, but had they not placed a claim for Harrison, he would be playing for Washington.
It’s interesting to see the Redskins looking to add a left tackle, given the situation involving Trent Williams, who has reportedly requested to be traded or released.
The Browns waived Harrison missing or being late to responsibilities with the team, according to reports.
Harrison made the Browns’ roster as an undrafted free agent last year and started the season as the starting left tackle.
Harrison, 25, was signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia in 2018. He is in the second year of his three-year, $1.71 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $570,000 and $660,000 over the next two years.
During the 2018 season, Harrison started eight games for the Browns at left tackle. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 67 offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.
