Redskins Placing NT Kedric Golston On I.R. & Promoting DL Matt Ioannidis

Redskins HC Jay Gruden announced Monday that they’re placing NT Kedric Golston on injured reserve and promoting DE Matt Ioannidis from their practice squad, per Liz Clarke.

  • Master Tesfatsion adds that the Redskins have also waived LB Lynden Trail from their practices squad.

Golston left Sunday’s Week 2 game with a hamstring injury, so it appears as though this could be a significant issue for him.

Golston, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2006 and has spent all 11 years of his NFL career with Washington.

The Redskins brought Golston back on a one-year, $1.005 million contract this past March.

This season, Golston appeared in both games for the Redskins and recorded two tackles and no sacks.

Trail, 25, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Norfolk State back in May of last year. He was wound up being waived coming out of the preseason with an injury designation and was later cut with an injury settlement.

The Redskins signed him to their practice squad midseason and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. After once again being a final roster cuts, the Redskins signed him to their practice squad.

Trail has yet to appear in an NFL game.
