John Keim of ESPN reports that the Redskins are promoting WR Cam Sims to their active roster on Saturday and waiving LB Tanner Vallejo.
Keim explains that while Vallejo was their highest-rated special teams performer, Washington needed a receiver to help this weekend.
Sims, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Alabama back in 2018. He was placed on injured reserve a few weeks into the 2018 season.
Washington waived Sims coming out of the preseason and he has been on and off of their roster ever since.
During his college career at Alabama, Sims caught 41 passes for 467 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 23 games.
