Redskins Ready To Cut Donovan McNabb?

NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora reports that it’s believed that Mike Shanahan and the Redskins will ultimately end up releasing Donovan McNabb.

No real surprise here. McNabb is due $10 million for the upcoming season which drastically impacts his trade value. On top of that, McNabb is coming off of his worst season in the NFL which doesn’t help anything. Interest in McNabb has been rather limited throughout the offseason despite several reports that the Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans could be options for him if he’s released.

McNabb isn’t going to be the greatest option no matter where he ends up landing but his value is as high as it ever will be considering that the lockout has cut into the majority of offseason programs. Teams will be looking for quarterback options that can help them win games instead of going with a unprepared rookie.

  1. Did you see McNabb’s interview at Vikings camp? The guy looked terribly out of shape. It almost justifies his benching in Washington last season.
