Redskins Waive WR Robert Davis, Release CB Adonis Alexander From PS

The Washington Redskins officially waived WR Robert Davis on Tuesday and released CB Adonis Alexander from the practice squad. 

Alexander, 23, was selected by Washington in the sixth round of last year’s supplemental draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $2.6 million but was waived by the Redskins coming out of the preseason this year and re-signed to the practice squad. 

At his Pro Day, Alexander measured 6020/195 pounds and posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.61 to go along with 7.18 (3 cone), 4.37 (short shuttle), 35.5 inches (vertical) and 10-feet-4-inch (broad jump).

Alexander played three seasons at Virginia Tech and recorded 125 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, seven interceptions, 17 pass defenses, and a forced fumble over the course of 32 games.

Alexander has yet to appear in an NFL game.
