According to Ian Rapoport, the Redskins are signing CB Simeon Thomas off of the Seahawks practice squad Tuesday.
Thomas was originally selected by the Browns in the sixth round before ending up in Seattle. He’ll immediately join Washington’s 53-man roster.
Thomas, 25, was a sixth-round pick by the Browns out of Louisiana Lafayette in 2018. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $2.561 million that includes a $148,878 signing bonus.
He was among Cleveland’s final roster cuts and was quickly signed off waivers by the Seahawks. He was waived again and rejoined the Seahawks’ practice squad.
Thomas re-signed in Seattle on a futures deal for the 2019 season. He was waived during roster cuts and again re-signed to the practice squad.
During his four-year college career, Thomas recorded 90 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, 19 pass defenses, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
