Redskins Signing OT Donald Penn To One-Year Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that veteran OT Donald Penn is flying to Washington DC today to sign a one-year deal with the Redskins.

The contract should be finalized on Wednesday.

This is the second offensive tackle the Redskins have signed in the past week, so they’re clearly looking to bolster their depth while Trent Williams’ holds out.

Penn, 36, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State back in 2006. After a few months in Minnesota, Penn signed on with the Buccaneers during his rookie season and spent eight years in Tampa Bay before he was released back in 2014.

The Raiders signed Penn to a contract soon after before bringing him back on a $21M extension in 2017 but was released during the offseason.

In 2018, Penn appeared in four games for the Raiders.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
