Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the Redskins will start QBย Colt McCoy against the Cowboys this evening.
Ian Rapoport mentioned earlier this morning thatย “it wouldd be a major surprise” to everyone if QB Robert Griffin III started Monday night’s game, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Last weekend, McCoy took over for Kirk Cousins at halftime and proceeded to throw for 128 yards and a touchdown while completing 11 of 12 pass attempts (91.7 percent).
It will be interesting to see what he’s capable of doing with a full week to prepare, but I wouldn’t see that overall expectations are that high.
As for RGIII, there is a chance he could be back for their Week 9 match up against the Vikings, but we’ll have to monitor his status throughout the week.
