The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday that they’ve waived LB DeMarquis Gates and signed DB Ashton Lampkin to a contract.
Gates, 23, wound up signing on with the Browns last year as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi. He was waived just a few weeks later and sat out the entire 2018 season.
The Redskins signed Gates to a contract following a stint in the AAF back in April.
During his four-year college career at Ole Miss, Gates recorded 282 tackles, six sacks, three forced fumbles, a recovery and nine pass defenses over the course of 45 games.
