Report: 49ers DL Arik Armstead & Eagles WR Nelson Agholor Available For Trade

Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports that 49ers DL Arik Armstead and Eagles WR Nelson Agholor are available for trade at the right price.

However, Breer stresses that neither will be given away, given that they would factor into their team’s comp-pick equation in 2020.

Earlier in the day, a report mentioned that the 49ers were shopping DL Solomon Thomas. Breer explains that there’s optimism Thomas will be a better fit playing in a new scheme under first-year line coach Kris Kocurek, which is why he believes it’s much less likely Thomas will be moved.

A report from earlier in the week mentioned that Agholor could be available, so this isn’t a big surprise.

Armstead, 25, is a former first-round pick out of Oregon by the 49ers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was in the final year of his four-year, $9.84 rookie contract when the 49ers elected to pick up Armstead’s fifth-year option last year.

Armstead will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

In 2018, Armstead appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and recorded 48 tackles and three sacks.

Agholor, 25, is a former first-round pick out of USC by the Eagles in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was in the final year of his four-year, $ 9.377 million rookie contract when the Eagles elected to pick up his fifth-year option.

Agholor now stands to make a $9,387,000 for the 2019 season under his fifth-year option.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Agholor would free up $9,387,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2018, Agholor appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 64 passes for 736 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 32 yards on three carries.
