Report: Bears Have Considered Trading WR Earl Bennett

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears have held internal discussions about the idea of trading WR Earl Bennett.

  • Schefter adds that completing deals at this point in the year is not easy.

This appears to be an indication that Chicago is comfortable moving forward with guys like Joe Anderson and rookie Marques Wilson as their No. 3 and 4 receivers.

Bennett, 26, stands to make $2.25 million for the 2013 season and is under contract through 2015. He has base salaries of $2.35 million in 2014 and another $2 million in 2015, which also includes an “escalating” roster bonus that could be worth as much as $3 million.
