Bears Fire GM Phil Emery & HC Marc Trestman

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Bears have just fired HC Marc Trestman as well.

• Jason La Canfora confirms that the Bears will be announcing the firing of Trestman and Emery shortly.

Since taking over as the Bears head coach last year, Trestman has led Chicago to a record of 13-19 (.406).

Despite the Bears’ struggles, Trestman could end up being a hot offensive coordinator candidate in the coming weeks.

Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that word is tricking out of Chicago that the Bears have fired GM Phil Emery.

There has been talk in recent days that the Bears could clean house and move on from Emery and HC Marc Trestman, but it seemed as though Emery had a better chance of hanging around.

Nothing is official, of course, but this would be a clear indication that Trestman is out, assuming PFT’s report is accurate.
