Report: Broncos Expected To Hold Wes Welker Out Until The Playoffs

According to an ESPN.com report, Broncos WR Wes Welker is expected to be held out of the team’s final two regular season games and return in time for their playoff matchup.

Welker was able to do some “light physical activity” on Thursday, but they are clearly taking it slow with him after he suffered his second concussion of the season just a few weeks ago.

Welker still has not been medically cleared to practice, but it appears as though he will have three more weeks to hopefully recover in time to suit for their playoff game.

“The exercise is picking up,’‘ HC John Fox said. “They’re doing more and more with him in the weight room, running around out here a little bit and … he’s doing better every day.”

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported last night that Welker was out for Week 16’s game against the Texans.

Andre Caldwell will remain the team’s No. 3 wide receiver with Welker out of the lineup.
