Rick Stroud reports that the Buccaneers have reached an agreement with former Titans CB Alterraun Verner.
- Ian Rapoport reports that Verner receives a four-year deal worth $26.5 million and includes $14 million guaranteed.
- Verner will average $6.625 million per year in this contract.
It looks like Verner’s market was as good as good as it appeared, given that guys like Sam Shields and Vontae Davis fared better in terms of total money and guarantees.
Verner, 25, finished the year with 57 tackles, five interceptions including one for a touchdown, two fumble recoveries and 23 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has Verner rated as the No. 12 cornerback in the league this season.
