Jenna Laine reports that source have informed her that the Buccaneers have signed WR Steve Smith to a one-year deal.
Smith, 27, signed with the Rams last season, but wound up playing in only nine games and finished the season with 14 receptions for 131 yards receiving.
At one point, Smith was Pro Bowl caliber receiver for the Giants, but his career has been in a downward spiral since his breakout 2009 season. The Buccaneers appear to be loading up on low-cost options for training camp.
