Report: Colts RB Vick Ballard Tore His Achilles Friday, Done For The Season

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Colts RB Vick Ballard suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Friday’s practice.

  • Mike Garafolo confirms the news and mentions that this is just an “initial diagnosis” with an MRI to come.

He had to be carted off the field, so it appeared as though the injury was fairly serious.

This will most likely end Ballard’s season and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Colts place him on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Ballard, 24, unfortunately suffered an ACL injury in September of last year and was limited to appearing in just a single game. He still has two years remaining on his contract, but hopefully he’s able to bounce back next year before becoming a free agent in 2016.

The Colts have already said that they are expecting a big year from Trent Richardson, but it looks like they will also be hoping for Ahmad Bradshaw to play a productive role this season as well.
