ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Miami Dolphins will release LB Karlos Dansby.
Jim Trotter reports that Miami will also release LB Kevin Burnett.
The recent additions of Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler have left their two veteran linebackers expendable.
Dansby actually signed the richest contract for an inside linebacker in NFL history a few years ago. He had $15.1 million remaining on his contract, so the Dolphins must have felt that they were better off going with the younger Ellerbe.
Dansby figures to draw a good amount of interest in the next few weeks. The Ravens could really use an inside linebacker at this point, so he could be someone they consider.
