Rand Getlin confirms that Falcons S Thomas DeCoud will be released before the fourth day of the league year.

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Falcons are expected to part ways with veteran S Thomas DeCoud. before his $2.25 million of his $4.2 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed on March 15. (H/T thefalcoholic.com)
There has been talk that DeCoud could be on the chopping block for a few months, so this news doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
DeCoud, 28, signed a five-year contract worth $17.5 million that included $4 million guaranteed with the Falcons back in 2012. He was also selected a Pro Bowl that year, but really struggled a lot this season in both tackling and coverage.
Pro Football Focus has DeCoud rated as the No. 83 safety in the league out of 86 players qualifying players last season.
