Len Pasquarelli of the National Football Post reports that the Falcons are considering signing free agent G/T free agent Travelle Wharton.
According to Pasquarelli, the Falcons have explored the possibility of Wharton filling in at the right tackle spot, now that they have lostย Mike Johnson for the entire season due to a leg injury.
Wharton, who missed the entire 2012 season with a torn ACL, has so far visited the Panthers and Broncos since being released by Cincinnati.
The Falcons currently have second-year veteran Lamar Holmes, waiting on the wings as a possible candidate to replace Johnson. Holmes has made just one appearance in his career and played a total of seven snaps from scrimmage as a rookie.
The Falcons will have to be cautious as they decide who will be protecting their recently invested $100 million quarterback this season.
