Report: Jaguars Will Fire GM Gene Smith

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that sources have informed him that the Jacksonville Jaguars will indeed fire GM Gene Smith next week.

Schefter specifically mentions that Cardinals’ Jason Licht and 49ers’ Tom Gamble could both be candidates to replace Smith as general manager.

Gamble has been somewhat of a hot commodity in recent days. There have been a number of rumors connecting him to potential vacancies, so it will be interesting to see if Shad Khan is able to bring him in given the level of interest in his services.
