Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Jets have claimed RB Daryl Richardson off of waivers from the Rams.
- Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports mentioned earlier in the day that the Ravens were “at least considering” the idea of placing a waiver claim on Richardson.
Richardson, 24, had two years remaining on his four-year contract worth $2,145,896, which included base salaries of $570,000 and $660,000 coming his way over the next two seasons.
It was a little surprising to see the Rams cut him loose on Thursday given that it appeared as though Isaiah Pead could be the odd man out in St. Louis.
Last year, Richardson ran for 215 yards on 69 carries (3.1 YPC) and contributed 14 receptions for 121 yards receiving as well.
