Report: Jets Restructure LT D’Brickashaw Ferguson’s Contract

Brian McIntyre of Yahoo Sports reports that the Jets have restructured the contract LT D’Brickashaw Ferguson, which frees up $5.128 million in cap space.

Ferguson, 29, signed an eight-year contract worth $73.6 million and included $34.8 million guaranteed back in 2010. He had a $7.25 million base salary coming his way, but the Jets have reduced that figure to $840,000 with the remaining $6.41 million being converted to a signing bonus that will be prorated over remaining five years. Ferguson’s workout bonuses of $750,000 will remain intact.

This leaves the Jets with $12.379 million in cap space, according to McIntyre.
