Report: Lions Work Out Free Agent CB Terrell Thomas

Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News reports that the Lions worked out free agent CB Terrell Thomas on Wednesday after their OTA practice.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reported last week that Thomas worked out for the Patriots while other recent reports mentioned that Thomas had also visited with the Panthers and Raiders, so there appears to be some interest developing in his services.

Even with the building interest, Thomas will almost certainly have to wait until after June 1 to be signed given that it won’t cost teams compensatory draft picks to sign players at that point.

Thomas, 29, was once a very promising player in the league, but he has unfortunately suffered multiple ACL tears over the course of his career.

He missed all of 2011 and 2012 due to ACL tears, but he managed to return last year and play in all 16 games for the Giants. Thomas finished the season with 67 tackles, a sack, an interception and a forced fumble.

Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 52 cornerback in league last year.
