Ian Rapoport reports that the Patriots are hopeful that TE Rob Gronkowski will be able to return in time for their Week 3 match up against the Buccaneers.
- Rapoport adds that the Patriots expect to have him back for Week 4, but next week’s game is still in question.
Gronkowski has been practicing in full pads this week, which is a pretty positive sign for him moving forward.
Fellow TE Zach Sudfeld is expected to be inactive for Thursday’s game against the Jets. New England will be forced turn to Michael Hoomanawanui and Matthew Mulligan as long as Gronkowski and Sudfeld are out.
