Report: Jets One Of “Several Teams” That Have Reached Out Rams About RB Zac Stacy

Update:

Brian Costello of the New York Post reports that the Jets are one of “several teams” that have reached out to the Rams about running back Zac Stacy, who recently requested a trade after the Rams took Georgia RB Todd Gurley in round one.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirms that Rams RB Zac Stacy has, in fact, requested to be traded and the team is willing to move him.

———-

Adam Caplan of ESPN, citing a league source reports that Rams RB Zac Stacy plans to ask for his release or to be traded following the addition of Georgia RB Todd Gurley.

There was at least some talk that the Rams could come away from the draft with Gurley, depending on what happened with some of the top offensive linemen like Brandon Scherrf.

It’s hard to say there would be a lot of interest in a guy who lost his starting job to a rookie last year, but there could be a team willing to part with a late-round selection for him.

Stacy, 24, has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.337 million rookie contract, which includes base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 coming his way.

In 2014, appeared in 13 games for the Rams and ran for 293 yards on 76 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with 18 receptions for 152 yards receiving and a touchdown.
