Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Saints are also releasing CB Jabari Greer in their move to get cap compliant.
Several reports have already confirmed that the Saints have released DE Will Smith and S Roman Harper, but they were expected to make several moves this week to free up some much needed cap space.
Greer, 32, had two years remaining on his four-year, $21.1 million contract that included $11.3 million guaranteed. According to Overthecap.com, release Greer will free up $3.175 million cap space.
- Brian McIntyre mentions that Greer had a $400,000 roster bonus coming his way on March 13.
He totaled 30 tackles, one interception and 12 passes defensed over the course of 10 games this season. Pro Football Focus had Greer rated as the No. 60 cornerback in the league this season.
