Report: Texans Waive 2013 Third-Round Pick OT Brennan Williams

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Houston Texans have waived 2013 third-round pick OT Brennan Williams with a physical designation.

Williams, 23, suffered a knee injury last year and wound up missing all of OTAs and training camp recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.

New Texans HC Bill O’Brien mentioned that they weren’t sure if Williams would be available in time for the start of training camp.

The fact that the team parted ways with a third-round pick so soon would seem to suggest that there are some real concerns regarding his knee moving forward.
