Report: Victor Cruz Will Sign His Restricted Tender

Josina Anderson reports that Giants WR Victor Cruz has informed her that he’s on his way to the team facility to sign his restricted tender.

“I’m going to sign my tender today and will continue talks for a long-term deal before camp starts,” said Cruz, via Anderson.

New York placed a first-round tender on Cruz, so he stands to make $2.879 million for the 2013 season.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that the two sides aren’t any closer to reaching an agreement on a long-term extension.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that sources have informed him that a training-camp holdout for Cruz remains a possibility.

Despite signing his tender, Cruz could still elect to stay away from the team’s mandatory training camp and incur fines. The Giants could have reduced his tender by $2 million this season if he didn’t sign in the next three days.

Cruz, 26, can still work on a long-term extension with the Giants in the coming months.

We have Cruz listed as the No. 4 player in our Top 50 – 2014 NFL Free Agents list.
