Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that free agent WRย Rishard Matthews has hiredย Drew Rosenhaus to help him find a new team after previously representing himself.
According to Schefter, there areย multiple teams interested inย Matthews and the expectation is that he’ll sign with a new team at some point in the near future.
Matthews has yet to visit with a prospective team, despite being released a few weeks ago. However, it sounds like there’s enough interest in him where he’ll be able to sign without trying out for teams.
Matthews, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2012. He spent four years in Miami before signing a three-year, $15 million contract with the Titans in 2016.
Matthews was set to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new one-year extension last month worth a base value of $7.75M for the 2019 season. The Titans elected to cut him loose shortly after he requested his release from the team.
In 2018, Matthews has appeared in three games and caught three passes for 11 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
