Browns
Browns long-time LT Joe Thomas admitted that even with the teamโs assurance that they have no plans to trade him, itโs still a possibility, depending on what happens during the offseason.
โWell, theyโve said the same things (to me) and itโs flattering that anybody would say those things about you,โ Thomas said Thursday, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. โI feel the same way about them, but at the same time, I donโt think they were planning on trading me last year when Denver called.
โSo players are commodities and if they feel like theyโve got a good value or a good opportunity to make the team better, they should get fired if they donโt make that decision.โ
โThatโs your job when youโre in control of a football team is do everything they can to make the team better, whether thatโs trade your 10-year guy or sign a guy that nobodyโs ever heard of but you know heโs going to make the team better,โ Thomas said. โThose are the decisions that you have to make and sometimes those are tough decisions. Itโs a business. Thatโs the way it goes, so itโs great that they like me. I like them. Iโd certainly like to be here, but those are decisions that are certainly out of my hands.โ
Dolphins
- James Walker of ESPN expects new Dolphins HC Adam Gase to give QB Ryan Tannehill more freedom and control over their offense next year.
- Walker doesnโt see Alabama LB Reggie Ragland as the best option for the Dolphins at No. 8 overall. Instead, Walker views UCLAโs Myles Jack and Notre Dameโs Jaylon Smith as better fits.
- Walker expects the Dolphins to cut WR Greg Jennings at some point in the near future.
