Jane Slater reports that the Teddy Bridgewater is expected to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints despite a bigger deal on the table from the Dolphins.
According to Slater, Bridgewater values the locker room culture and the prospect of one day becoming the Saints starting quarterback.
Bridgewater, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $6,849,502 rookie contract after Minnesota declined to pick up his fifth-year option.
Bridgewater signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Jets last year that includes just $500,000 guaranteed. However, the Jets later traded him to the Saints during the preseason.
In 2018, Bridgewater appeared in five games for the Saints and completed 14 of 23 pass attempts for 118 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for five yards.
We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
