The Saints also promoted seven players to their active roster including CB Grant Haley, LB Chase Hansen, WR Tommylee Lewis, RB Tony Jones Jr, TE Garrett Griffin, LB Andrew Dowell and WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

Murray, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. After four years with the Raiders, Murray departed for a three-year, $15 million contract that included $3.4 million guaranteed with the Vikings.

Murray later signed a four-year, $14.4 million contract with the Saints in 2019.

In 2020, Murray has appeared in 15 games for the Saints and rushed for 656 yards on 146 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 23 receptions for 176 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.

Swearinger, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He lasted just over two years in Houston before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay cut Swearinger loose during the 2015 season and he eventually caught on with the Cardinals. From there, he had brief stints with Washington, the Cardinals and Raiders before catching on with the Saints.

New Orleans re-signed Swearinger to a one-year, $1.1 million deal last year.

In 2020, Swearinger has appeared in 11 games for the Saints and recorded 14 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
