Saints & Patrick Robinson Have “Mutual Interest” In New Agreement

Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports that the Saints have held “preliminary” contract discussions with free agent CB Patrick Robinson.

According to Underhill, there is “mutual interest” between the two parties in working out an agreement.

Robinson, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. He’s played out his five-year, $9,409,500 contract that included $6,085,000 guaranteed, and is now in position to reach the open market in the next few weeks.

In 2014, Robinson appeared in 14 games for the Saints and recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass defenses for the Saints’ defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No 40 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.

We have Robinson rated as the No. 93 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
