Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Saints have placed rookie WR Brandin Cooks on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday.
- The Saints also placed S Rafael Bush on injured reserve and waived RB Edwin Baker.
- New Orleans signed LB Moise Fokou, DB Terrence Frederick and DB Pierre Warren to a contracts, according to Yates.
Cooks suffered a broken thumb during Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and was expected to miss somewhere between 4-6 weeks.
Based on that timeline, it seemed like this could be a possibility as the Saints could use that extra roster spot as they try to make the playoffs.
Cooks’ rookie season ends with him catching 53 passes for 550 yards receiving to go along with seven rushes for 73 and four total touchdowns over the course of 10 games.
