The New Orleans Saints announced Sunday that they’ve promoted C Cameron Tom to their active roster and placed G Derrick Kelly on the COVID-19 list.
Tom will revert back to the Saints’ practice squad on Monday without having to clear waivers.
Tom, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2017. He was cut loose coming out of the preseason and later re-signed to the Saints’ practice squad.
Tom returned to New Orleans last year on a one-year contract, but the Saints declined to tender him an exclusive rights offer this offseason before eventually re-signing him and later adding him to the practice squad.
In 2018, Tom appeared in 11 games for the Saints, making one start.
