Barrett, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Ohio State back in May before signing a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Saints. New Orleans elected to waive Barrett as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason and they later added him to their practice squad.
Barrett has been on and off of the Saints’ practice squad ever since.
During his four years at OSU, Barrett threw for 9,434 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 104 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,263 yards and 43 touchdowns.
Maulet, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.
The Saints waived Maulet back in September and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Colts. Indianapolis waived him last week.
In 2018, Maulet has appeared in six games and recorded nine tackles and no interceptions.
